Prime Minister candidate is Narendra Modi from Gujarat.
How about other Ministers.
Will there be a candidate for Deputy Prime Minister? Who will be the Deputy Prime Minister? Which state gets that privilege.
Who will be the Defence Minister?
How about Home Minister?
Who will be the minister for 2G spectrum?
How many ministers will be from each state?
If you could announce Prime Minister candidate, then why don't you announce entire cabinet.
Declaring the Prime Minister candidate, as far as Indian Constitution is concerned; it is unconstitutional.
It is the responsibility of the MPs to elect the Prime Minister. It is not the responsibility of the people.
So, first make amendment to the constitution; give the power to the people; let the people elect the Chief Executive directly.
People will give the stability for that leader. Look at the tamasha of Arvind Kejriwal. He couldn't survive for not even 100 days; now asking for election.
It is better to have our leaders take money home by way of corruption; than wasting money on frequent election.
The executive needs stability; you don't need to give stability for her or his entire life. But at least for the five years, the executive needs stability.
Only direct election by people will provide the stability.
Otherwise, democracy is meaningless; people will soon get fed up with frequent elections.
So, without changing the constitution, announcing the Prime Minister candidate is not a good idea; it will work against you.
Right now you are negotiating with regional parties for seat sharing. Regional parties may demand for portfolio negotiation also, right now.
Instead of demanding for 15 seats; regional parties can demand for a good revenue portfolio.
Why do they need to spend money for 15 constituency; instead of that they can just ask for one MP seat; and that MP will be the candidate for IT or communication.
Just change the constitution; everything will be alright.
