In America, Barack Obama participated in primary elections in 2008. Primary elections are used to deny opportunities for others. With primary election, Barack Obama could eliminate the challenge of Hillary Clinton.

Serious leaders in America; the very first thing they need to do is; avoid participating in primary election. In this era, people do have debate, almost on daily basis on social media. So television debate is no longer a thing.

In India, there is no primary election. So, all citizens could participate in the election. People do elect their representative to the legislative branch.

The fact is, people don't have the right to elect the Prime Minister of India. So, there is Prime Ministerial candidate - is a false. The false has sustained in the world media, by continuos propaganda.

The citizens of India elect their MPs. MPs go direct to the legislative branch. No one goes direct to the executive branch or White House in India.

All 543 MPs are equal. In fact, all 543 MPs have equal rights to become the Prime Minister of India. So, if you would like to call anyone as Prime Ministerial candidate, then that applies to all 543 MPs.

All 543 MPs are candidate for the Prime Minister of India. They all are eligible. If there is a selection process, all 543 can file their nomination for the post of Prime Minister of India.

So, in America, with the election, all confusion ends.
In India, it just starts now.

So, closely watch the developments over there.
By looking at India, you could get a better perception about your constitution.

The founding fathers of America did a wonderful job.
But, the so called, We, the people of United States of America...don't understand it.
More than understanding, they mis-interpret it.
George Washington clearly warned against both Republican and Democratic political parties.

Look, Modiji is our PM candidate and Rajnathji our party president. There is harmony and good coordination between them. It is a good thing for the party. I believe this coordination is the reason for our campaign to have picked up so well.

On the national scene, do you think people still look at you with distrust? Do you think it is necessary to win over the liberal intelligentsia who are suspicious of you?

I have never done anything in my life to win over anyone. I do my job with the honesty and integrity that I have and leave judgment to others. I think this impression that you talk about, it has been created without knowing me. I believe once people get to know me, my work, they will begin to see things in a different light.

A section of the media believes you will be the second-most powerful man if Mr. Modi becomes Prime Minister. You must be happy about it?

This impression is not correct. Mein zamini star ka karyakarta hoon [I am a ground-level worker]. I am a general secretary of the BJP like so many others. There are so many leaders in our party. What I mean is, forget number two, I am nowhere in the pecking order. Frankly, I am embarrassed about it.

But how do you feel about your position in the party hierarchy? What is the basis for this impression?

They say these things because I am in charge of U.P. It is a critical State. That is why some hype has been created.
