Democracy is Pathless Land

In 1957,  DMK secured 15 Assembly seats and two parliamentary seats.

In 1962, the DMK emerged as the major political party in the state outside the Congress, winning 50 seats in the Assembly. Although Annadurai himself lost the elections, he was nominated as a Member of Parliament to the upper house Rajya Sabha.

In 1979, members of his party Satyavani Muthu and Aravinda Bala Pajanor became the first non-Congress politicians from Tamil Nadu to be ministers in the Union Cabinet.

In the 1996 general elections, the Congress party headed by P.V. Narasimha Rao lost decisively but no other party won enough seats to form a government. 

When the United Front 

(a conglomeration of 

non-Congress and 

non-BJP 

regional parties) 

decided to form the Government at the Centre with the support of the Congress, Deve Gowda was unexpectedly chosen to head the government and became the 11th Prime Minister of India.

He took over as Prime Minister of India on 1 June 1996 and continued until 11 April 1997. Also, He was the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the United Front, the policy making apex body of all the constituents of the ruling front.

The Indian National Congress party was supporting the United Front government from outside, but decided to withdraw support citing its wish to have the incumbent prime minister replaced, which led to its collapse in April 1997. 

To avoid mid-term elections a compromise was reached. The INC agreed to support another United Front government under a new leader provided its concerns—such as not being consulted before taking important decisions and being marginalised—were addressed. The United Front elected Gujral as their new leader and he was sworn in as Prime Minister on 21 April 1997.

So, there are no fixed paths for democracy.

Media has a frozen mind. They think that there are only two paths.

One is Congress and other is BJP.

No. There are several paths.

When you travel in Helicopter, you can avoid all these fixed paths.

So, the era of two options are gone.

In fact, 543 permutations and combinations will work.

So, in Indian democracy, it is anyone's game.

Anyone, literally anyone can become the Prime Minister.

The current acting Prime Minister; that is how the world thinks now.

Our Acting Prime Minister is Narendra Modi.

Earlier the media said; start; camera; action.

The acting continues all over India and other virtual world.
